Safety Tips
Your safety is our priority. Follow these guidelines to protect yourself when using YuhPlace.
Meet in Public Places
Always arrange to meet in a well-lit, public location. Busy areas like markets, malls, or police station car parks are ideal. Avoid going to a stranger's home alone.
Inspect Before You Pay
Check the item in person before handing over money. Test electronics, verify documents for vehicles and property, and never pay the full amount sight unseen.
Watch for Red Flags
Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true, sellers who refuse to meet in person, requests for advance payment via wire transfer, or pressure to act quickly.
Keep Communication on Platform
Use YuhPlace messaging when possible. This creates a record of your conversation and helps our moderation team if something goes wrong.
Verify the Seller
Check the seller's profile for verification badges, account age, and ratings from other buyers. Established profiles with positive reviews are generally more trustworthy.
Report Suspicious Activity
If something feels off, report it immediately. Use the report button on any listing or profile. Our moderation team reviews every report and takes action quickly.
In an Emergency
If you feel unsafe or believe a crime has been committed, contact the Guyana Police Force immediately at 911 or your nearest police station. YuhPlace is not a substitute for emergency services.
